Going Organic: The Future Of Cosmetics

Going Organic: The Future Of CosmeticsThe new line of organic cosmetics set apart the harmful elements found in traditional ingredients of cosmetics. Find out the benefits of these "organic cosmetics" in health and beauty.Awareness has been the newest trend in the growing population today, health awareness, to be exact. More and more people have been raving for organically made products. In with the new and out with the old, as they say. In this instance, organic products are now the newest players in marketing and synthetic products are the old. The response for the demand has been amazing. Among the following products that have responded to the call are organic vegetables and fruits, organic snacks, even organic fuel! To address the biggest chunk in marketing women; cosmetics company have begun to drift to producing organically-made cosmetics, as well. This new line of organic make-up does not compromise your health and your appearance, at the same time. Many people do not know that much of the organic compounds and produce grown in our world have their own benefits they can contribute to cosmetics. Not only can they give the same variety of colors many women seek for, they can also give synthetic cosmetics a run for their money. Many organic produce and compounds used in cosmetics can still offer the moisture in your lipsticks, they can give the necessary vitamins beneficial to the skin, and they can give the shine, luster, or matte finish that you prefer to stand out in the crowd! These organic materials can also play with colors and so you dont feel that your choices are limited. Most importantly, they dont give the immediate effects of harming your skin, and the chronic effects of skin damage in the future. Many women have grown to like organic cosmetics more these days because of the much disseminated information that there are certain synthetic or man-made ingredients in the cosmetics of the past that are considered carcinogens. These carcinogens, when used repeatedly can have a cumulative effect and the longer youve been using these products, the higher your chances of cancer or any other skin diseases. There is good news, however. It is not too late to reverse the effects of the cosmetics you used to apply in the past. Organic make-up has great compounds that have ant oxidative properties. We all know that antioxidants deter the development of cancer. Antioxidants that can be found in organic make-up prevent the process of oxidation that causes the rapid destruction of cells. With these antioxidants in organic make-ups now you wont have to worry about carcinogens, and aside from lessening those worry lines you also get a much healthier skin. Now, how exactly can organic cosmetics be beneficial to your skin? The biggest benefit organic cosmetics can give you are its antioxidant properties that deter the development of cancer, skin cancer being the most common. The vitamins and minerals that are already contained in organic products benefit women excessively in terms of good skin care. Organic cosmetics are hypoallergenic and thus women who are worried of break-outs and skin irritation, this is a wiser and more affordable product for them. No need to spend more money on antihistamines to cure those allergy fits. Yet another way organic make-up can be beneficial is their ability, rather their inability to clog pores. Clogged pores brought about usually by oil-based cosmetics are the common complaints of women because clogged pores can be ghastly and can lead to the development of blackheads, pimples, or acne. In a world where appearances are everything, women have become pickier in choosing which make-up works for them. Organic make-up is more affordable compared to well-known and much more established synthetic make-up, another benefit most women enjoy. As more and more products are becoming more on the higher end, their prices have also been increasing. Organic make-up offers you more benefits for a lesser price this is because production costs are cheaper since products the products are readily accessible. Perhaps the most significant of all benefits organic make-up can offer is that it is environmentally friendly. Since it makes use of organic compounds and earth grown fruits and vegetables, the waste products that may be incurred through production are not only hazardous to the environment but can still be recycled. No animals need to be harmed and no essential natural resources need to be depleted in the making of organic cosmetics. Organic cosmetics are right for those who are not only health conscious but who are environmentally aware, as well. Since the environment has been growing from worse to worst, joining the force to keep this from happening can be the best contribution you can ever repay the world that has given you life. The organic movement, organic cosmetics included, has heeded this call. It does not only benefit the consumers that it targets, it is also aware of the much needed repair the damaged earth has incurred. Choose to stay beautifully healthy inside, as well as outside and organic make-up can help you achieve this. Live in a more beautiful world by buying organic cosmetics.

Keeping Beauty On Mom's To-Do List

Keeping Beauty On Mom

Apparently, there's no "me" in "mommy." A recent survey revealed that the seemingly never-ending demands of family, work and household duties often cause moms to neglect their own beauty routines. In fact, some might say this selflessness is reaching surprising proportions. The survey found that 75 percent of moms have skipped their own showers to take care of their children's needs-with one-fourth confessing that they have actually gone three days or longer without showering. If that's not hair-raising evidence that a beauty intervention is in fast order, consider this: Nearly half of moms claim that they have gone seven months or more without a haircut, and almost two-thirds (61 percent) admit to wearing sweatpants or ponytails more often now that they're moms. The survey, called the Suave Beauty Monitor Survey, polled moms across the country. Here are some additional results: The Beauty Lowdown on Mom's To-Do ListWhile it's not overly surprising that moms are putting their children and families first, somewhere in the unwritten guide to motherhood, beauty seems to have been pushed to the back burner. Only 13 percent of moms say that beauty has not taken a backseat to their family's needs. In fact, when asked to rank activities on their regular to-do lists, taking care of appearance falls close to the bottom of most moms' lists-with doing the laundry, having leisure time and shopping for themselves falling below it. The result of this selflessness may be taking its toll, as 50 percent of moms admit that their personal appearance has become worse or more difficult since having kids."On our show, I see moms all the time sacrificing their beauty and personal needs for the benefit of their families," says Stacy London, host from TLC's popular makeover show, "What Not to Wear." "The truth is that personal beauty does have a place within motherhood, and all moms should look like they have it all, including looking their best."Beauty at a PriceDespite this desire to feel beautiful, more than half of moms (55 percent) view spending time on their beauty as a luxury. However, the Beauty Monitor Survey revealed that it's not just about lack of time. When asked what they would do with an extra $50 in their monthly budgets, 59 percent of moms said they would spend it on items for the kids and family such as clothes or shoes for the kids, groceries for the family or toys and school supplies for the children. A mere 14 percent said they would spend it on themselves-with even less (2 percent) saying they would spend it on beauty products. "First off, let's be honest that looking good does take at least some investment of time and money. But, that doesn't have to mean big bucks or long hours slaving away in front of a mirror," says London. "Some small, simple steps can go a long way in helping mom get beauty back on her list. For instance, I suggest using beauty products like Suave that work, but don't cost an arm, leg and your child's college tuition." She says the beauty brand offers moms guilt-free beauty through a wide range of products at a great price. The brand is urging moms across the country to make a commitment to themselves and to embrace motherhood and beauty simultaneously.Giving Moms a Beauty Wake-Up Call

Help! I've got White Spots

Help! I

Fungal infections of the human body are very common, and are often quite bothersome. One such example is a condition known as tinea versicolor, a superficial yeast infection that produces white spots on the skin that are difficult to remove. How do I get it?Pityrosporum orbiculare, the yeast that causes tinea versicolor, is present in small numbers on normal skin; regular washing rids the skin of dead skin cells as well as excess yeast. But it can grow in great amounts during the summer months when humidity sky-rockets or when a person's immune system is weakened and interfere with the normal pigmentation of the skin; resulting in unsightly spots in both light and dark colors.Teens and young adults, regardless of skin color, are the usual victims of tinea versicolor, and those with oily skin may be more prone to it than those with dry skin. In tropical countries, where humidity and temperature are persistently elevated, people of all ages can suffer from these spots all throughout the year. What are the symptoms?Flat spots that range in color from white to pink to tan and brown appear over the upper arms, chest, back, neck and face. They vary greatly in size, from as small as four to five millimeters in diameter to large areas of confluence. Scaling may not be readily evident, but scales may easily be obtained by scraping the affected areas. A mild itch may be present, particularly if a person is sweating or feels hot. When the spots involve the neck or face, it can be very disconcerting. What can I do about it?If you think you have white spots or any discolorations of the skin, see a dermatologist. The appearance of the skin is often all that is required to clinch a diagnosis, but microscopic examination of the fine scales can be performed if necessary. When viewed under a special light or chemical preparation, the presence of the yeast can be confirmed. How it is treated?Tinea versicolor responds to either topical or oral forms of treatment. Topical antifungal creams, ointments, or shampoos containing selenium sulfide, keteconazole, zinc-pyrithrone, imidazole, or other medications applied directly to affected areas once or twice daily have proven effective. Sulfur soap and salicyclic acid have also been used to rid skin of the yeast. Oral antifungals have been used to treat tinea versicolor resistant to topical applications. In both topical and oral forms of treatment, however, restoration of skin color should be expected several months after yeast has been destroyed. Consult your dermatologist before using any of these medications.Recurrence is common and medicated cleansers may be needed to prevent relapses. Ask your dermatologist about them. To discourage overgrowth of fungus, keep skin dry and wear thin, loose clothing.

Living Naturally - Natural Health and Skincare

Today's lifestyle leaves us open to a daily chemical assault, from the air we breathe to the water we drink, and the skincare and haircare products we use on a daily basis. It is not known what the long-term effects of these chemicals will be, but one thing's for sure, it can't be good. Some people are unaware of the huge amounts of additives in their food, water and personal care products. Some are too busy to care, and others have the attitude ' Yes I know, it's awful, but what can you do?'The informed, wise people out there though, are taking a different view. Any species that fails to live in harmony with it's natural environment will eventually make itself extinct. Fact. It's nature. If human beings carry on the way they are going, they will indeed end up extinct..For instance, 100 years ago, cancer affected approximately 1 in every 50 people. Now it strikes 1 in 3. It won't be long before it is striking half the population. It doesn't take a genius to realise that our lifestyle is the biggest factor influencing this increase.Diet especially, is of paramount importance when it comes to maintaining good health, but so many people ignore this fact and fill their bodies ( and their kids ) with low-nutrient , chemical and additive filled junk. When people eat meat, they are consuming the same chemicals and hormones that the animal ate. Obesity is on the sharp increase, and it's not surprising considering that the majority of obese people are meat-eaters. They eat the meat, the meat is full of growth hormones and chemicals, the growth hormones are absorbed into the human body, so the person gets fatter. Want my advise - if your are overweight and seriously want to lose weight - go on a low fat vegetarian diet. If your body had a choice, it would ask for lots of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, preferably raw. Your body would choose clean , fresh water ( I mean pure bottled spring water, not the stuff that comes out of your tap at home). Think about how much fresh water you consume in a day, and by that I mean water thats not mixed with squash, tea , coffee or anything else. I bet it's not much. Do your body a favour, next time you reach for the fizzy drink, reach for the mineral water instead.Tap water is just another way that we are being poisoned on a daily basis. It contains chemicals, hormones and in a lot of areas it also contains flouride. Yes, sodium flouride , that old favourite. The stuff they put in toothpaste is the same stuff they use to make rat-poison ! Surprised. What people get confused about is calcium flouride, which is the stuff naturally found in water which helps keep our teeth and bones strong. People think this is what goes into toothpaste and the water supply, wrong.Sodium flouride is a by-product of aluminium smelting and other industries. It's nothing more than toxic waste. For years it was very expensive to dispose of, until someone decided to make up some rubbish about it being good for our teeth, so they could get away with disposing of it in our water supply. This of course was done without public agreement. Nice, thanks for that, I'll stick to the bottled stuff.Sodium flouride builds up in the body over time, and it can cause cancer. It makes bones softer so they fracture more easily, and it doesn't protect your teeth, in fact it has the opposite effect. Sodium flouride is a main ingredient in anesthetic, hypnotic, and psychiatric drugs as well as military nerve gas. Sodium flouride promotes mental disturbances. The Nazi's added it to the water supply at the concentration camps during the war, to help sterilize the prisoners and force them to be calm and submissive.Sodium Flouride has a poisonous and narcotic effect on a certain area of the brain, which makes the person submissive and less able to resist those who wish to control him. It's a way of controlling of the masses. Hmmm, makes you wonder what the government have in mind for us today......When we look at the skincare and haircare products we use daily, most contain sodium laurel ( or laureth ) sulfate. This is a foaming agent which is so harsh that it was first used as engine degreaser! Fancy that, washing your skin and hair in something harsh enough to strip oil off a garage floor. No wonder we're all spending a fortune on moisturisers! Hmmm, am I just paranoid or do you think there could be some method in their madness......So they put this SLS in your shampoo, shower gel, bath foam, toothpaste etc, and then add moisturising ingredients to the same products to counteract the drying effects of the SLS. Why not just buy products without SLS? That's what the smart people are doing. That's what I do.Since I stopped using commercial shampoos and skincare products, and switched to all natural, herbal skin care products, and natural hair care products, my skin and hair are gorgeous. My hair that was once frizzy and dry is now curly and shiny.Since I began using organic, aromatherapy based skin care, my skin that was once so shiny from all the grease and additives from my previous moisturiser, is now so soft , much younger looking, and I don't need powder or foundation because my skin is great!I use non-flouride toothpaste, and I take vitamin and mineral supplements every day. I always eat fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, and I always drink bottled, pure water. I am vegetarian so I eat a very natural , low fat diet, that's full of nutrients. I have never felt so healthy. If you value your body, your health and your life, as well as your children and other loved ones, you owe it to yourself to change your lifestyle right now and start living more naturally.
